Good evening everyone!

Chef I still think of Gary and have mentioned him in 'Daisy's First Anniversary'. Yes Hadleigh Castle was built in the thirteenth century and it has been immortalised by John Constable.

How has Zola been today? Jacky's been okay but I felt it was too cold for her to go out. I have tried to put her to bed she has moved out of position again so I shall have to tuck her in later.

I hope you've all had a good Easter mine was enjoyable but I was shocked when I was watching BBC Breakfast when they suddenly broke the news about Pope Francis it's as thought he waited for one last Easter. Very sad.

PS: I may not be able to post much this week because of going to see my cousin and his wife in London on Wednesday. Also I have an opticians appointment tomorrow morning which is the third sight test within nine months. I want to know what they mean by asking me "if I would like my current prescription in my frames"!

We in the U.S. are captivated by the history of those wonderful castles!!!
Does anyone comprehend that ONE DAY A LONG LONG TIME AGO SOMEONE ACTUALLY LIVED IN THEM!?!?!?
I blows my mind every time I see a castle or the like!

All those Little Rock’s and bricks it took to build! Must have taken a long while to build up the building and then make it warm and inviting to live in????

We (as Z generations) have it made.
We would never last in a cold dark brick building with no light no heat no water and most of all no phones!!! .
Throwing your toilet water out the window
Is NOT my “cup of tea” (shall we say…)

Dear Chef -have you heard of Stonehenge ? Not a castle, but a monument built thousands of years ago,by ancient Britons -and Zola has been there ! Years ago, he went with us to visit a friend a long way away, and on the way home, we decided to go to Stonehenge -I had been there before,as a child, but Richard grew up in Canada, and had never seen it.

So here he is - and I think it is quite possible no other tortoise has been there before or since -we have no wild ones in the UK !

Edward has visited a iron age fortress here in Finland, though they aren't much compared to the ones you have over there. It is basically a huge cliff rising from the lake. On top of the cliff there used to be this stone wall and inside it were stone piles collected to be thrown at any enemies. I didn't take Edward quite to the top, but he visited the site for sure.

Had a very impressive double rainbow here today. Before it formed the clouds were a strange mottled colour then the wind picked up & it rained very heavily for a short time. Then this rainbow formed. The picture doesn’t show how bright all the colours were, it was lovely! Perhaps in honour of the Pope’s passing today.

Americans almost always try to “debunk” things of such beautiful history and blame aliens for just about everything!

I am extremely sad to hear of the Popes passing. I don’t know who could possibly replace him????

Yes I was sad too. They called him the people's pope. I'm not of the same faith but he had similar values and I respected his love of peace
