Zola is about to go for his breakwater walk this afternoon.Yesterday, he met three Lithuanian ladies, who live in London now - They were delighted to see him, and even more when Richard said "vezhlis", which is the Lithuanian word for tortoise ! (I may not have spelled it quite right) They all wanted to have photos holding Zola, and of course,he was very good and didn't wee on them ! Or poo !
Tomorrow we hope to fetch more radicchio for Zola, as the storage place never seems to close - and then on Thursday we shall go to Plymouth for my injections. It's a good thing the car has passed its MOT, as it is very necessary for us - there just isn't any public transport !

Good evening everyone!

Dickie do you still have nightmares about that tortoise near your house if so imagine Sherman fighting it. Zola and Edward do you have to put up with drowning sessions.

Zola I hope you get your radicchio tomorrow and it's good that you have friends from Lithuania. We both went out today although I spent a lot of time sleeping to recover from drowning. Natrah went out to buy white roses for her nana and my original mum's anniversary. They are white roses which she wanted my following mum and dad to plant in the garden.

Goodnight everyone

Edward gets soaked every other day since he doesn't really drink on his own, and due to this he has had unhealthy urates and even bladder stones in the past. He really hates soaking, especially when I pour water on his shell.

It has been a little warmer here with a high of 16 C, but not warm enough for Edward to go outside, especially as it has been cloudy with some rain, and today even a little hail.

Tomorrow we are going back to my university city. The train has been replaced with a bus, but I knew that already when buying the tickets. Outside of the buses replacing trains there are very few bus companies that allow pets on board. This means that not every day or even every week is there a bus option where pets are allowed as the biggest companies don't allow pets on any of their rides.

But the local buses I use to travel from the bus station to my apartment are the opposite, as they allow all pets. I usually walk or bike everywhere, but the 5 km walk is too long for Edward to be carried.

Zola used to like being soaked, but he has gone off the idea now. However, every day, when he comes back from his walk on the breakwater, I give him a fairly short rinse in the bathroom washbasin, in which I splash him about, and trickle water on his head - he stretches his neck up as much as he can to get it - he loves that ! I like to be sure any salt is washed off his skin after he has been on the breakwater. He knows he will get a long stroking session after that, so he never makes a fuss about it. He doesn't really drink on his own, but he has sliced cucumber for breakfast every day, and I rinse all his food, so he gets a fair bit of fluid - in fact, he seems to urinate profusely at certain times of day.
It hasn't been as warm today, but I think tomorrow may be really hot again, though I hope not.

On the bus right now, Edward travels in such a way that if I didn't have a pet ticket I doubt no one would know I had an animal with me. His carrier is in a cooler to keep his temperatures stable (the cooler lid is open once the temperatures in the bus are stable) and the cooler is in a large bag so that it is easier to carry. I shove clothes in between the carrier and the cooler so that the carrier wouldn't move inside when carried.

All and all, I really must look weird 😅

Just like Jacky travelling in the trolley to the vets. No one knows that she's in there although I do give her a stroke every now and then. Just relax when you arrive and you never know you might get a present from Edward!

Good evening everyone!

Zola did you get your radicchio and did you enjoy the ride? Edward have you arrived at your servant's Uni? She seems to start her term earlier than we do here. Dickie and Sherman how are you two?

Jacky did eat a bit today and it was 28 degrees Celsius. I went back to Two Tree Island and I didn't see much until I went round to the otherside and saw Godwits, Redshank, Shelduck, Avocets, Turnstones and Oystercatchers. Also I was pleased to see the Wren.

Goodnight everyone

You’re looking very summery Natrah & the photos are lovely. I don’t imagine you’ll ever want to live elsewhere.
Dickie has come out herself yesterday & today but is eating very little.
She wanders about a bit then goes back to her house. If it’s still sunny Pete gets her out again to try her with some food which sometimes she eats. She is definately on a wind down.
Do you have to feed Jacky?

About a week ago I did but now she generally nibbles it I leave food in front of her but I am now putting it down for her a bit earlier to try and encourage her.

I have decided to call the bat Norah and I have just seen her flying from the back of the flat to the front.

Good evening everyone!

I hope you've all had a good day. Did anyone have rain? Did Zola get his walk?

We had rain at lunchtime and I had lunch in Tomassi's but I forgot my phone I couldn't take a photo of Peppermint Perfection. I wanted to spend the birthday voucher that I received from my friend but M & S didn't have the shoes that I wanted.

Anyway between now and the next vet appointment I need to make sure that Jacky eats every day and I realise that I'll have to get her back in the enclosure to do this. However the weather has been so warm that there was no need for this and today she ate quite a bit. She ate so much that she left a nice present for me to clear up🤣🤣🤣🤣💩💩💩💩.

Goodnight everyone

Natrah, Jacky and Angel Daisy

PS: Good luck with the new academic year Edward.

We only had a few spots of rain on the windows. The forecast does indicate we will get rain over the coming days.
Glad Jacky is eating more. Dickie did come out herself again & she had some lettuce & a dandelion head.

Dear Natrah -I was really sorry you didn't get the card when I first sent it to you, as I know how much you love butterflies, and this one is pretty special, being the rarest and biggest in the UK, I think, so I just had to send you another copy of it - I'm so glad it arrived !
