I forgot to say I have to go to Plymouth tomorrow, for my next head injections - it's a long journey, and the weather isn't going to be good -possible thunderstorms ! We shall take Zola with us, as we never feel happy leaving him for a very long time, in case he gets into some kind of trouble - but I think he will have to stay in his basket in the car when we are actually in the hospital. It is a huge building, and we don't exactly know where to go -also we may end up parking a long way away - I just hope my appointments will be in Tavistock again after this one. I shall be very glad to actually have the injections though, as my headaches have been fairly bad and fairly constant!
Wish me luck !

Good evening everyone!

Just got off a long phone call to my friend in Coventry. Yes I think the Swallowtail is one of our rarest butterflies and the only time I saw one flying in the wild here was at the end of a butterfly walk in Langdon Hills. I remember calling 'What's that butterfly over?" Just as we'd sat down to tea and my friend "It's a Swallowtail" before we all jumped up and chased after it!

It turned out to be a continental Swallowtail which was released by a local school unfortunately the leader of the walk had already gone home so how she felt when she was told about this I don't know! Anyway Zola's writing is better than Jacky's.

Good luck tomorrow Angie and Edward I take it you must be on iron tablets. Hope you're okay Sue.

Goodnight everyone

Dear Chef - I'm so glad you were with me in spirit, as it was actually a fairly horrible experience. There was a thunderstorm and very heavy rain for a lot of the drive down - Richard is a very good driver, but even he found it difficult. The hospital is having a lot of rebuilding done, and it is extremely difficult to find your way around -especially when you are pretty wobbly on your feet, as I was. In the end, Richard found a hospital wheelchair not being used, and I struggled in - the chair was only able to go backwards, which was a bit disconcerting, but made things easier for us both. Oh, and the car park was a huge but incredibly badly designed building, which made it almost impossible to find a parking space when we arrived !
The actual injection experience was not too bad, and the doctor was a nice chap I hadn't met before, who was extremely helpful. Meanwhile, little Zola was in the car, and I'm sure Gary and Daisy took care of him, as he was very calm and happy when we got back.
I'm glad it's over, but just hope we can go to our usual -and much closer -hospital again in future.

Dear Angie,
My goodness!
What a day you had!!! Jaygers!!! (sp)
Trying to find the “good” in that story…..
I would say that I am so glad the injections were not as painful.?
But that’s only because the trip itself was horrendous.
The wheelchair that could only go backwards…
Ok…ok… that did make me giggle a little 🤭
But you should have waved like the Queen as you passed all of the nurses backwards!!!
They would have been thinking ….
“What’s this going on?”
“Does this lady have bats in her bell free?” 🤣
Poor wee Richard.. with all that driving in the rain…
He deserves a medal!!….
or at the very least a wee cup of tea with a chocolate “crunchie bar”.
(I’ve had those and they are scrumptious!)
All in all it was a not so great trip but for all the right reasons.
The main thing is that you are HOPEFULLY feeling better and those headaches are giving you peace.
All my love for a speedy recovery ❤️‍🩹
Chef-

P.S.— Gary and Daisy said to tell you that Zola was fine the whole time except for the occasional “gassy toot” here and there.
But one thing is for sure… they will bring nose pinchers next time…
as Zolas feet were stinky! 😆😆
Probably from all that breakwater. 😘❤️🙏

Feel better my dear friend!!

Dear Chef -Zola survived our ordeal very well, and has had a quiet day, eating a lot to make up for any eating time he missed out on yesterday - but he was a bit upset about his smelly feet - he doesn't normally have company in his box, so he didn't realise ! He will ensure he is thoroughly scrubbed before next time !
I am really tired today, but my head feels less painful, certainly. Thank you again for all your support and encouragement -it is much appreciated.

Good evening everyone!

How are you all? We are in the middle of a thunderstorm. Jacky did go out this morning but she ended up being put in the enclosure because of persistent rain. I shall keep her in the enclosure to keep her eating until her vet appointment at the end of September but if I think it's warm enough I'll put her out.

I hope you're feeling better today Angie and I hope you're okay as well Edward's Servant. My thyroid blood tests have come back normal although I had to chase the surgery up.

I just want to tell you about yesterday when I had an email from the shop saying that the other Piano Teacher who comes in on Saturdays has suddenly left. This is good in that some of them are coming to me. However my colleague was working late into Saturday afternoon and I've had to say I don't want to work after 12.30 pm because of other commitments. I just feel that it's encroaching into my private life when I meet up with friends etc although it is good to have more pupils than before at 61 years of age

Goodnight everyone

Natrah, Jacky and Angel Daisy

That pink sky was unusual. We’ve had some heavy downpours & a little thunder yesterday. I’m glad it’s rained though as the plants & animals needed it. The sapling in the neighbours garden looks better but I think the drought here has brought on an early autumn as leaves are falling & the garden plants are going over a bit now & look quite straggly.

Those photos are pretty impressive, Natrah !
The hospital we went to on Thursday had a lot of flooding, and had to close one of the operating theatres because of it - also there were several landslides in the area as a result of the rain, and many roads had to be closed, so we were very lucky to be heading back home when the worst happened ! There are quite a few fields under water still, but I think the farm animals are all safe.
Maybe Zola will get a short breakwater walk today - he didn't get one yesterday, because of the cold wind and the rain - but we were all very tired after the very stressful experience on Thursday !

Good afternoon everyone!

Unfortunately I could hear the neighbours again last night and it seems that the neighbour who moved out on the 1st August was another neighbour in another flat. Anyway all the other neighbours want the noisy ones out and so do the landlords. The landlords have told some people Xmas and other people October I will believe the landlords when I see it. Caring for my dad with Alzheimer's has given me the strength to deal with this

It was quite sunny today, though not as warm, and Richard was able to take Zola on the breakwater again. However, there were rather more people than he liked ( Richard, I mean -Zola doesn't care) A group of Asian tourists came up, and started filming Zola and talking about him very loudly to each other, and stood around for some time. Not once did any of them speak to Richard to ask if it was ok to film Zola - they just completely ignored him - if they didn't speak English, they could still have indicated what they wanted to do, annd thanked him afterwards - they behaved as if he didn't exist - and just talked across him ! He was really cross , as you can imagine. He is normally happy to talk to people about Zola - and has had interesting conversations quite often - he is also very good at talking to children and answering their questions - but has never been treated so rudely as this ! I don't think it will put him off going there, as Zola really enjoys it so much, and it is a particularly good place, with the uneven surface - and usually very few people around, but it was upsetting.

Good evening everyone!

I'm sorry about that Angie and that was very rude of them. I hope Richard's okay and not put off by such rudeness. I think those people are lucky that it wasn't anyone else because they have said something.

I've had a quiet day and I did have lunch at the local theatre before buying some rocket for Jacky. She is starting to eat again now that she's in the enclosure although she wasn't pleased with her bath. I'm still disappointed with the neighbours being but it is what it is and I shall plough on.

I've just noticed the sky and some of the clouds are pink again. How is it where you are Edward? I noticed on Cold Dark Room that you said it was raining in Finland. Hope you're new term got off to a good start.

Goodnight everyone

Good morning @Chefdenoel10,

How are your neighbours?

Natrah
Dear Natrah,
I completely understand how frustrating it is to have a bad neighbor.
My new neighbors (for over a year now) are constantly being disruptive.
Loud banging
Kids running till 5am
Cars at all hours of the night during the week
Music blasting
Loud talking
Feet made of cast iron banging about and finally… their guests who stay for over a week and smoke pot INSIDE the house.
My house is a side by side meaning it’s a big house split down the middle.
I think they separated the walls using tissue paper!!!!
I hate them (and I dont hate anybody!!)
The land lord hates them and his
Relator hates them.
We all want them out but it seems here the government is protecting them!!!
Kids are involved….
But if they only knew this kid
Is high most of the time
Doesn’t attend school and is awake till well past 2am Monday to Sundays
Runs about the place and slams stuff all night long.
My only protection against them is my air conditioner!!!!!
In a weeks time I don’t know WHAT I’ll do???
I have TWO “white noise machines”
A ceiling fan and I leave the tv on low to drown them out but it’s not enough….
I sleep only 4hrs per night and that includes weekends.
I am drained to say the least…
I am dying to hear your horror stories.
They help me to feel not so alone.
Yet I feel just so horrible that YOU (my sweet angel friend) have to go through such pain as well…..☹️😖😫🥺😢
