Hello Natrah and everyone - it was cold but sunny today again, and we went on our long drive to get Zola some new radicchio - and I think the Devon countryside was more beautiful than I have ever seen it ! There has been a lot of rain fairly recently, followed by a lot of sunshine - and the trees are pretty much in full leaf, but the leaves are still fresh and shiny, and the roadside flowers and the ones in gardens we passed were just glowing with colour ! Our friends at the big warehouse had chosen some particularly large and red radicchio for Zola, and were very pleased to see him. I think he makes quite a change from any other customers they get !
When we decided to move to Devon from London, it was mostly my idea, as I had come here quite a bit over the years before I knew Richard, and had various distant family connections in the area - but mainly because all my life I wanted to be near the sea - and looking back, I am so very glad we did - and of course if we hadn't done so, we would never have met Zola ! It's impossible now to imagine life without him ! Anyway, we are both very glad we moved.Love to you,Jacky and Angel Daisy, and to all our forum friends

What an absolutely beautiful story.
You must have the most amazing views when you get to see the ocean.
Zola is so lucky to have such great parents.
Is the food there good too?

Thank you Chef - we are very lucky to have Zola, who is, in our opinion, the best and most lovely tortoise in the world. He is also one of the best known, as he has met people from many countries who see him when they are on holiday here, and take photos of him to show when they go home.
This is an agricultural area, and the local food is pretty good - there are wonderful farm shops, and a cheese factory not far away - and, of course, fish and chips places - but I don't think there are many lovely cafes like the ones Natrah goes to! We don't go to restaurants, although there are a few quite famous ones around, partly because they are very expensive, and partly because Richard is a pretty good cook, and we prefer to eat at home !
I forgot to mention that we have a couple of vineyards in the area too.
Zola had a walk today on the breakwater again, but there is a cold wind, and I think there will be tomorrow too - he never wants to give up, but we don't want him to get too chilled. He is such a determined little chap.
Love to all our forum friends from Angie xxxxxxxxxxxx and Zola xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Good evening everyone!

Angie if you didn't have we would never have met you as well. I have a mental image of everyone in my mind and I imagine you three in a pretty Devon village, Sue in Northampton, Edward in Finland, Chef in the US and I believe @pippin is in Wales. We had a few holidays in Ilfracombe, Brixham and Honiton and I remember the delicious cream teas. Sue I studied in Nene College and I can remember some of the lovely countryside.

We've had some rather cold days here and I've the heating back on. Jacky has been staying in her enclosure but they say it is going to warm up again so maybe she can go back out. I imagine Zola went out today and his friends at the warehouse must look forward to seeing him.

Goodnight everyone

Natrah, Jacky and Angel Daisy

Dear Jacky - I'm sorry that you are having trouble eating - that doesn't sound like you at all. I am a bit cross today, as I didn't get my walk on the breakwater today - my dad said it was too cold. My mum has been very shaky, and I stayed in my room with her a lot to keep her company. She will be having her injections next week, so that may help.
My dad has been planting up lots of flowers for the garden, and I will be able to send you some photos soon -there are some very pretty ones already, and lots in bud for the future.
Lots of love to you, Jacky, and to Natrah and Angel Daisy, and to all my forum friends (to whom I say goodnight every night with my mum)

Hello Natrah - these are some photos of petunias that my dad has been planting up.The spotted one is called Night Sky, and I think are pretty new - we first discovered them several years ago, and they are our favourites each year. The double petunia is not fully open yet, but it certainly looks pretty cool !.

Dear Zola,

These are very pretty and your dad obviously has green fingers. When does your mum go for her injections? It seems to be warmer here but woke up at dawn feeling rather cold. It's been too cold for Jacky to go out but they say that it is going to get warmer so perhaps Jacky, Dickie, Sherman and yourself can go out again soon. Edward how is it in Finland?

It is getting wamer here, 10c today, maybe even 16 c on Tuesday. Last week we had some new snow but it melted away quite quickly.

Dickie expressed her displeasure at being told it was too cold to go out today 🤣

Dear Natrah -I had another lovely long walk on the breakwater today, followed by a rest with my mum. She isn't very well at the moment, but she will be getting her injections next week, so hopefully will feel a bit better then.
One exciting thing is that she is going to get a new (well, second-hand) computer next week - it is an IMac, like her current one, but much newer, and hopefully will be able to do a few more advanced things than her present one can.The one she has now has stopped blocking adverts, and she finds ads really annoying, and is also getting pretty slow.
Lots of love to you, Jackie and Angel Daisy, and all my forum friends from Zola xxxxxxxxx and Angiexxxxxxxx

Good evening everyone,

I'm just about to go and look for bats. Jacky has been out as well Zola and she was so pleased with her outing that she wants everyone to know that she left three little surprises for me by the rubbish bin. I hope your mum feels better soon when are her injections next week. Hay-fever is playing havoc with me at the moment.

Goodnight everyone

I've been getting lots of early presents from Sapphire too. Our 18th anniversary is coming up on the 18th. He must be celebrating early 😜
