Dear Chef,

I just want to warn you to keep an eye on your mail where your neighbour is concerned because I had a Xmas present not arriving and yet my friend is adamant that she sent in early December. If it was just one parcel it could be an error but my grade one Piano pupil's certificate has also not and probably a couple of Xmas cards. I have the exam board to investigate the certificate and I shall see what happens.

That's horrible, Natrah ! I am so grateful that Richard and I now live in a single house on the edge of a village rather than in a flat any more - not that we ever had neighbours as bad as yours and Chef's. We do get noise from various farming activities and so on, and the road outside our house has got very much buisier over the years, but that's ok. I do hope the new people will be nice - or at least not nasty.
I have been struggling with a bad headache for several days, so I haven't written much, but I hope to have my next injection next week, and that may help - I have to tell you about the beautiful rainbows I have seen recently, and the snowdrops !

Fortunately I am on the case already..
She already has one of my Christmas gifts from last year.
This year she knows better as I have installed one of those “Ring” cameras .
I now have them all over the house as well.
Just to be on the safe side.

Yes tap's being left on 'accidentally'! Maybe more noise but you can buy silicone earplugs.

Good evening everyone!

I've had a fairly busy day with defrosting the fridge, dealing with a pushy parent who wants her poor son to sit his grade 3 Piano exam this term when he hasn't gone through his pieces and sorting out pieces for the Southend Musical Festival meeting on Thursday. Anyway the parent is willing to enter her poor son for his grade 3 Piano exam herself which takes some pressure off me. I hope you feel better soon Angie I felt as though I had a cold coming yesterday but now I seem to be okay.

It's been quite spring-like here and I'm pleased you saw the rainbows Angie and the snowdrops. I was pleased to see Great **** in the tree behind the flat and I suppose they may think of nesting. I'll let you know when I hear about my pupil's certificate but I feel sad to explain to a twelve year old's mother why it's still not here.

Dear Chef - I am having 3- monthly injections now of a new medecine called Ajovy, and sometimes it takes a rather long time to get going - I should be having the next one on the 22nd Jan, and hopefully it will start making a difference soon. The nurse organising the scheme will be able to let me try another one, if it doesn't help, but she judged that this would be most suitable, Time will tell ! I may end up having to go back to pills again, but it's worth a try - just very depressing when I'm not making progress !

I’m sorry to have so much sympathy for you but it’s just not right.
I’ve had many a migraine myself and the pain is excruciating. I can not imagine having them daily as you probably do.
It burns me up inside that no doctor can get you what you need sooner than later.
I hate that you are going through this and I just want to help you.
I keep seeing these commercials over here for exactly what you have and all I can do is yell your name at the tv!!!!
I want to help somehow CURE you!

I'm very behind with myself today but I just want to tell you all that my friend's Xmas present turned up! It seems that the postman took it to the sorting office instead of the post office. I'm still waiting for my pupil's certificate so I'll see if that turns up. The weather is miserable here so I hope everyone else is okay and that Angie is feeling better.

I’m always behind with things that I never catch up with. It’s one of my New Year resolutions to keep up with jobs a bit more but so far this year I haven’t done so.
Glad your present finally arrived.Hope there wasn’t any additional postage to pay. Sometimes we get other peoples parcels left outside our door. Right number wrong street, one time wrong village even! Our post is occasionally posted into neighhours letterbox which because they are busy people doesn’t get noticed until a day or two later or when its been opened.
Keeping an eye on the temperature in Dickies box. It’s about 8degrees on the outside but 10.5 inside. I think the weather might get a bit colder again soon so hopefully she won’t wake up yet.

Yea, right lady… I should wallop you right in the nose ! Give me MY mail!!!!
When I get other people’s mail I am only happy to walk it to their house (if close by) and return it!
Oh… and off the subject…
We are to get 12-18” of snow on Sunday into Monday of next week!!!!
I not in Finland!!!! Or Canada! Or even Alaska!!!!!
So how is his happening?????
I’m too old to shovel anymore!!!

Hope everyone else is getting closer to spring than I am.

i keep an eye on the weather in the States as it sometimes comes across to us courtesy of the jet stream, thankfully not as severe as you get. I heard something about an ice storm coming that could be the worst & very damaging. I don’t know of any other country that can get the extremes of temperature that you get, sometimes in the same day. It fascinates me but I’m very thankful that we don’t usually get that amount of snow, not in our towns & cities anyway.
How does anyone get to work? Or school? Are your employers sympathetic to bad conditions or are you expected to go no matter what?
Snow shovels to the ready! It’s hard work…. so I hear! Do you have something on your vehicle wheels to help drive in the snow & ice? You’all be careful out there

Dear Natrah - I'm so glad you got your Christmas present at last ! We have had some pretty bad weather most of the time recently, and I think it will be like this for a while longer. In between the storms and rain, we have gone out for short trips to the sea, for Zola - he doesn't mind getting cold if he gets back in a warm car and under his mum's jacket straight away ! What he hates, I think, is heavy rain and hail on his conservatory roof-so do I -I had my latest injection yesterday, and so far it seems to have made my headache worse, and I feel pretty bad, but I hope things will improve. !
Anyway, to mention more cheerful things, it is Burns Night on Sunday, so we have to get a haggis (which we slice and bake in the oven,rather than boil ) - and put the great man's poetry book on the table, so we can read aloud some of his works. Richard was born in Glasgow, and lived there for several years, until his family emigrated to Canada -so of course he takes Burns night seriously - and I really wished I was Scottish as a child. We have a tartan bow for Zola -if I can find it !
