Hello Edward's servant - yesterday in the Guardian newspaper, there was a lot about the Moomins, and I thought you would like to see it. Richard has kindly made a link for me, which I hope will work.
Angie

Interesting! Haven't seen about this on the Finnish news. All the talk around the 80th anniversary has centered around the mug 😅

Hello Natrah and everyone - it has been really windy and fairly cold today, but it was sunny in the afternoon, and my dad took me for a walk by the sea - in the end he decided to let me have a short walk on the breakwater too. Then we came back, and my mum wrapped me up against her, and warmed me up by the fire. That was nice too. She is feeling very tired and wobbly at the moment, so I like to keep an eye on her.
How is Jacky getting on?
Lots of love to you, Natrah, and to Jacky and Angel Daisy, and to all my forum friends from Zola xxxxxxxxxx

Good evening everyone!

I just want to introduce you to @pippin and Shelly. I've been advising Pippin on fridge hibernation on one of my other threads. Zola I've just been reading your message and it's been warm here but I've just noticed that it's started so I'm glad I bought the washing in when I did. I know that Angie is wobbly but I hope she's started recovering from the injections.

I'm looking forward to half-term although I still have a few pupils (Pippin I teach Piano and Violin). I may be going to London on Monday and tomorrow I am meeting my friend for lunch. In the evening I may take to the seafront to look at the fireworks and Halloween Parade.

I didn't have any pupils because they are away but I was quite busy because my mattress topper arrived and I have been chatting to the neighbours and telling them that I have contacted Southend Council about the noisy neighbours. I can fill out an online form about them and I have informed the other neighbours about this and they are all going to do the same thing. However one thing doesn't make much sense and that is the fact that one of the neighbours spoke to the landlords regarding the fact that we were all kept up all night last Friday and he said that they told him that they've been trying to get rid of these neighbours as well! I'm guessing that as they are also estate agents who own this building they are obliged to find them alternative accommodation but in actual they don't want them in any of their buildings!

Anyway Jacky isn't very active now but she's still a good weight and she wants to say hello to Shelly.

Goodnight everyone

Natrah, Jacky and Angel Daisy

Love it 🤣🤣 He likes plenty of attention especially from the ladies but doesn’t care much for housework……he’s off. He’ll rearrange it to his liking when they’ve gone. Sally will you ‘swipe left or right’ for this handsome boy? 😆
Believe you me…. He might NEVER find an opening!! 🤣
She is QUICK AS A WHIP!!!
Pictures to follow tomorrow…..

Dear Natrah - that looks pretty impressive !.
Zola went out with his dad today - he met some people from Torquay, who saw him several years ago, and who said "Hello Zola" - and his dad also saw a mum and dad with their little boy, who was very small, and who was screaming and crying. Richard went towards the couple, who looked exhausted trying to deal with the child - he bent down and said "Here's Zola. He's a tortoise and he would like to meet you !" Immediately, the boy stopped crying, and gazed at Zola with amazement. He reached out and touched his shell - and became a different child altogether. The parents were very grateful, and thanked Richard profusely - he said that Zola often had that effect on children ! It is so lovely when that happens.
Lots of love to you, Jacky and Angel Daisy, and to all our forum friends from Zolaxxxxxxxxxx and Angie xxxxxxxx

Dear Chef - my dad was born in Scotland, which makes me part Scottish, so there is no need to apologise!!
I was born in Holland and travelled to England as a tiny tortoise (my mum has a certificate to prove it !) Oh yes, and my dad grew up in Canada, so my mum is the only real English one in the family - and her mother's family came fron Ireland !
I have calmed quite a few distressed children over the years - partly, I think, because there are no wild tortoises in the UK, so most young children have never seen one, and it is such a surprise - and partly because I really look them in the eyes, which most tortoises wouldn't do, and I think they feel a connection with me.
Thank you for your kind (Scottish) words
Love from Zola xxxxxxxxxx

Good evening everyone!

I am speaking on behalf of Jacky who is fast asleep in bed. She wanted me to relay this message to you. Firstly she hopes you are all well and she is pleased that Zola brings pure joy to little children. She woke up when I put her out at 2.15 to enjoy some late autumn sunshine whilst I cleaned the enclosure. She says that she enjoyed going for a short stroll before going back to sleep. She is looking forward to sleeping in her old room in the pet enclosure and she is a good weight. She is preparing for colder temperatures and longer snoozes.

Goodnight everyone

Good morning everyone!

I am on my way to London and the train has passed Hadleigh Castle. Anyone familiar with the works of John Constable will know that he painted a picture of this castle of although there was more of it in those days. I've left Jacky in the pet carrier with the door unzipped but although the temperature dipped to 17 degrees Celsius I am not sure that she's going to come out. The weather isn't exactly appealing with sun, rain and cloud. She may well be further along the road than Dickie!

Natrah

PS: Zola I think has a photo of Sherman in his Halloween outfit.

Hello Natrah - it was very wet and cold, so I didn't get my walk - not even a look at the sea, as my dad decided it was too wet and windy to get out of the car ! I did get a long stroke from my mum, and a lovely fire, so I didn't mind too much. Tomorrow, if the weather is better, we shall go to Barnstaple to get some radicchio. That will be nice. We have to phone in the morning to check there are some in stock, first.
I wonder if you saw any rainbows today - it wasn't that sort of rain here at all.
Love to you, dear Angel Daisy, and lovely Jackie, and to all my forum friends from Zola xxxxxxxxxxxx

Good evening everyone!

I've arrived home to find that Jacky hasn't emerged so hibernation is under way. I had a lovely day in London walking around the National Portrait Gallery after getting my dates mixed up the Mall Galleries. Anyway Zola I'm that like Cornwall the weather got worse and it rained all afternoon.

Good luck with the weather tomorrow

The art exhibition seems really interesting. Not sure if I will make it to Helsinki before it ends.
