Hello again,Natrah and everyone - Here is Zola, carrying The Susan . When I was a little girl, my Nanma -who was the aunt who brought my mother up - took me to Northampton Woolworths one day, as a treat. She said I could choose a little doll - and after spending ages inspecting the faces of twenty or so tiny dolls, I decided on this one. She has stayed with me all my life- I have made her various little dresses over the years, and this is her fairy dress -when we get the Christmas tree up, she will be in charge !
She is called The Susan, but I don't remember why - she just is !
She lives by my bed, and is very precious to me still.
Love to all from Angie xxxxxxxxxx

That’s a lovely story & photo of Zola ❤️
Natrah just an update on Sherman - he is in his shed now! I hope he isn’t too bored & being destructive!
The poorly tortoises are now with D, Sherman’s favourite person, for ongoing special care. They are doing well. Thank goodness for the expert care given to them. The manager of the sanctuary said a few tears were shed when they first saw them & the state they were in. Now happy tears. Happy news for Christmas 🤞🙏🏻

Good evening everyone!

Susan is a beautiful doll Angie and she sits astride handsome Zola. I had a bridesmaid doll called Susan when I was about 5. I take it Susan will be at the top of the tree. Sue I'm pleased those tortoises are starting to do well I hope they will now start to thrive. I remember those poor Aldabras last year.

What is everyone doing for Xmas? I'm just doing last minute preparations really but yesterday was lovely when my friends and I met up for lunch at Rayleigh Lodge. I had a vegetarian Xmas pie and Belgian Chocolate Brownie, two friends had sausage and mash followed by Apple Crumble and Eton Mess and my other friend had Roast Turkey and Apple Crumble. The Rayleigh Lodge is steeped in history as it used to be a hunting lodge used by Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn!

Goodnight everyone

Hello Natrah -Yes, The Susan will be at the top of the tree, if we manage to get it up and ready. Also a lot of tinsel and fairy lights, of course - and the tree will stay up for months, probably - I love fairy lights. I don't think we shall do anything special, though - maybe a drive around to look at the lights in the area - and a look at the sea for Zola.
Today, we took him to his usual sea-viewing place - it was very cold and windy,-and a lady walking along the path towards him exclaimed "Oh, I haven't seen a tortoise for years - are you going to release him !" Richard said that we were most certainly not going to release him, and that we had been bringing here for 23 years because he liked to look at the sea - but honestly - can you imagine anyone releasing any animal in such a situation !!! Mad !!!!!!

I'm so sorry you are not well again - you are having a lot of bad luck - I hope you will be feeling better soon.
Maybe a nice hot carrot soak would help !

Dear Angie,

I think that this lady is one of the many people who can't tell the difference between a turtle and a tortoise!

I was a fairly sickly child so I have gotten used to it. Put the pneumonia was really bad luck and something new for me. Actually after two rounds of antibiotics (20 days in total) my temps didn't even settle down to normal before I got sick again :(

Maybe so, but you wouldn't release a turtle into a cold stormy sea with rocks all around - it would get smashed to bits on the rocks !

Good evening everyone!

Enjoy the picture below as a Xmas card incase I don't get a chance to write tomorrow. Edward's Servant how are you? I hope you feel a bit better. I shall be thinking of you on Wednesday. Angie I hope you're headaches are okay and Sue I hope you're okay. I shall be starting the cooking for Xmas day tomorrow but meanwhile this morning I did a bit more food shopping and it was chaos in Sainsbury's. I kept running into trolley traffic jams in the aisles and one poor lady managed to smash a jar of pickled olives on toast the floor. I was pleased to get all that I needed but whilst I was queuing at checkout I imagined what it would have been like if we had needed to do social distancing at Xmas. Can you imagine that?

Happy Xmas everyone

Goodnight

All ok here thanks Natrah. Pete did our shopping today too whilst i got on with housework. It was a bit manic. What we haven’t got now we will have to do without!
Tomorrow we are going to the Northampton Filmhouse to see “Its a Wonderful Life” a good way to wind down from the hectic last few weeks.
Christmas Day we are out for lunch at a local pub/restaurant. Boxing Day my sister & her husband are coming for dinner. We are going to Petes sister on New Years Day so in between we can please ourselves 😁
Wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas & peaceful New Year 🎄

Dear Natrah - that's a lovely picture/ Christmas card, and here is one in reply from Zola. I am sending it to Sue separately, as well - it is my favourite one of those Richard took of Zola the other day. I hope you will have a good day.
