Good evening everyone!

Dull and damp here and although Jacky is being kept she knows she should be thinking about hibernation because she put herself to bed at 2.30 pm! I'm pleased you got your rain Marsha but are Seymour and PeeWee behaving themselves. Sue how about George? Angie I hope you're okay. Unfortunately my colleague put a new pupil in my break time on Saturday by mistake. She is very sorry about this and I put a note to leave the next vacant slot free.

Goodnight everyone

George stayed out late last night. We have a locator on his collar so Pete went to find him. He was in another street probably having chased after a cat visiting the garden! We always get him in at night. He slept in this morning until 9am for a change!
Hope you don’t get too tired Natrah. It sounds like they need another teacher there.

Jacky in bed at 2:30pm, yes, getting ready for a long night sleep. PeeWee didn't even come out yesterday, cold, dreary & wet. (no reason to wake up for that). Seymour started wandering the house, in the morning there are a couple of places he likes to hang out, one is in my bedroom, he keeps trying to climb the baseboard in the corner, he has scraped the paint off the wall with his shell. So I scoop him up and put him in the patio and he sits in the same spot for an hour or so. Later on he finds a hiding spot and beds down. In the evening I retrieve him, put him on his warming pad with a towel over him, and typically he's good for the night.

It has been a cold grey day today, and didn't start off very well for me ! I got up to go to the bathroom at about 3am, and as soon as I opened my bedroom door, I noticed a faint smell of gas ! There is an oil-fired Stanley range in our kitchen, and also a small hob arrangement which is gas powered, with a bottle of propane gas in the cupboard beneath it and connected to it. I went into the kitchen at once, and discovered that one of the control knobs had got knocked sideways (which has never happened before) and gas was coming out slightly. I turned it off, of course, and went round opening doors and windows - Of course, by then I was too awake to go back to bed,but too tired to do anything useful.I managed not to wake Richard, who was very surprised when he finally got up to find a cold draught blowing through everywhere. I think it may have been a very slight leak, but I wasn't going to risk anything -I don't know how long it might have been going on, Zola was wrapped in his special blanket, and safely tucked into his sleeping box. Anyway, Richard and I will be very careful to check the gas hob every night now ! ! ! We have bought a spare bottle of gas today, as we are not sure how much may have been wasted by the leak - and it is very annoying if the bottle runs out halfway through cooking something.
Still, I may have saved our lives by needing to go to the bathroom when I did !
Love to all our friends from Angie and Zola xxxxxxxxxx

Gosh Angie thank goodness you needed to go to the bathroom! If having to ‘go’ in the night is not a normal occurrence then I think your sixth sense was at play.

Looks like someone was watching out for you. Even though I hate those types of near misses it's too coincidental to not be thankful that He was.🥰

Thank God for Brits and their tea!!!
If you hadn’t needed the loo
Youd’ve certainly had to 💩 waking up to that!!
Wee Angie, please take care of yourselves or I’ll have to move you in here with all of us!
AND WE’RE BONKERS RIGHT ENOUGH!

I am so sorry this happened to you.
If ya want a laugh…
Every time I’m leaving the kitchen I check the stove and fridge TWICE (like one of those people with a tick) to see that everything is closed and turned off.
Sometimes when I clean the oven..
The knobs turn just like yours did. Then I put all the towels hanging and spoon rests back on it and check the knobs. Sure enough one is slightly turned on…🤦‍♀️

So very glad you’re ok! 😘😘😘😘😘

I have OCD so it's a ritual for me but I've still knobs have been turned when I've been cleaning. @Chefdenoel10 you always make me laugh 😂.

Good evening everyone!

It was a bit brighter here but not bright enough to put Jacky out even for a little while. Anyway Angie I hope your stove is okay and I bet Richard was shocked to find that the hob was on. I believe that there some covers for stoves that you can buy especially for this sort of thing but I have no idea how you would assemble it. Edward's Servant I saw your thread about Edward's round worm and Jacky has been tested for this sort of thing so if you take Edward to your vet they can supply you with a kit to collect a sample of Edward's poo which can be tested. If he has round worm there is medicine to treat this.

Goodnight everyone

It has been a fairly cold and grey day today, but at least Zola had a look at the sea. When we got back, there was a letter to me, but just addressed to Margaret Angela (my two official first names) and no surname -and 2nd class post. That was a bit weird, but when I opened it, it was a card from the company who are going to deliver my new headache injection stuff. I managed to get through to them on the phone eventually - they had tried to ring me twice, but with a partly wrong phone number ! ! As far as I know, they are going to deliver the stuff on Tuesday - I must say, they didn't exactly impress me with their efficiency so far, so who knows ! I had been getting worried because I hadn't heard anything yet, so I feel a bit better about it now.
Tomorrow, Richard and I are getting our winter flu and covid injections, so it will be good to get that over.
Yesterday we had a lovely excursion to a place called Duckpool,on the coast, and I hope to send you some photos of it tomorrow.

Angie, I got my Flu and Covid shots on the 7th, it was not too bad till it it was time to go to bed, the Covid shot in my right arm, ached, and woke up several times that night, I didn't remember that last year, although I did get the full shot. I believe for older adults there is a "Reduced" shot. Last year I got the full shot, and seemed to be fine for the most part. I just wanted to get it over and done with ASAP

I don’t qualify for the covid one this year as it’s limited to those over 75 but I have had my flu jab. The ones I had last year were the first that didn’t cause me the pain you mention, before that the Covid one always hurt & itched for a number of days. Last year was the first time I had the Pfizer vaccine so I’m wondering if that was why. Which was yours?

When Covid19 hit I started off with the Moderna Vaccine, had several years of those, then progressed to the Pfizer vaccine now, Hadn't had much of any problem until this year. They say the ache is a good thing, that it's your body working on the vaccine, building up your immunity. I was having a conversation with my old GF. To this point in time, I have Not got Covid, nor the Flu since 2019. My old GF questioned that, saying "not even a lil?" NO, I wear a mask when ever I go in a store, to church (I'm one of a handful), or anywhere people congregate inside (But rarely, I have had a sit down dinner where I had to take the mask off, I'm just cognizant of the folks around me when I do.) As mentioned in the past. I have a lil farm, besides my kids . . it ME, MYSELF and I. I can't play fast & loose with my health.
