Good afternoon everyone!

We are on the way to the vets by bus because there is a long walk from the bus stop to the vets so unfortunately I am in the trolley. What did the vet recommend for George is he wearing a collar?

Jacky
He’s had an AB injection & a long acting steroid which is what he had to have before. She didn’t say anything about wearing a cone collar but we have a doughnut one we can inflate if starts licking at it again. It’s mainly when he settles down for a wash & a nap so I’ll keep an eye on him. Funny how it recurs, I’m wondering if it’s allergy related to something outside.
Jacky I’m sure the vet will have nothing but praise for your condition so be nice!

Natrah was wondering if it could be related to the central heating because she could feel her eczema last week. She keeps putting her hand in the trolley to rub my shell. I also think she tries to find my head but gets my foot. Either it is very reassuring.

Edward is digging in for the night an hour early, making a bunch of noise! Why does he always have to dig next to the wall of his hide?

It is cold here again, I have to star wearing cloves out in the mornings with the temperatures dropping down to 4C during the nights. It is sad Edward has to return to his grocery store diet soon. I got his Arcadia tube for overwintering yesterday but haven't installed it yet.

Good evening everyone!

We are on our way home after Jacky was given the all clear for hibernation. She even had her nails trimmed! Edward I hope your servant's okay Jacky has been eating groceries and strawberries and been told that her weight is fine. I will start to get her back outside and gradually into hibernation.

Sherman the vet told me about the head nurses Sulcata 🤣🤣🤣. Whilst she was at work he bashed the wire mesh protecting the flower borders in the garden and worked his up one side before turning and working on the other side🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. She arrived home in time to see the last flower disappearing 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Goodnight

The thing is that I am too afraid to hibernate Edward this year because of his bladder stones. And we have a long winter here so Edward will be eating groceries for a long while. I think I am most worried about variety.

He’s probably been planning that for some time just waiting for the opportunity!
Glad all is good to go for Jacky.
Hope Edward will be OK @The_Four_Toed_Edward
We’ve got Dickies hibernation box, just got to get the thermometers. It’s a bit of a worry either way isn’t it

Good evening everyone!

Sue just imagine having Sherman in the garden. Angie and Zolasdad I hope you're both feeling a bit better and that Zola got a long stroke.

Goodnight

I believe he will be. His appetite and behavior are all normal. There is no sign of him wanting to brumate, and he hasn't been brumated ever as far as I know (apart from the wild of course). He hasn't been passing any more stones, sometimes his urates are gritty. This is the thread about his stones: https://tortoiseforum.org/threads/gritty-urates-or-cuttle-bone-being-passed-or-what.215927/

I just can't find info on brumation with bladder stones and I don't feel comfortable brumating him not knowing what could happen.

Hello Natrah - I had a good walk on the breakwater this afternoon, followed by a very long stroke from my mum. It was sunny, and the sea looked very sparkly and pretty.
My dad's leg is a lot better, but my mum is still feeling very wobbly - however, she is a bit happier, as the plumber who is going to replace our leaky shower came yesterday to service our oil central heating, and promised he would see to the shower within a few weeks (my parents have been waiting since May !)
We are very glad Jacky is ok to hibernate - you must be feeling relieved.
Goodnight and love to you and Jacky, and Angel Daisy, and to all my forum friends from Zola xxxxxx

Did she tip her water over? 😂
Yesterday was warm later on so nice for Dickie to bask. Pete had to get her out to start with &
gave her a bath. She ate a couple of dandelions & a peach but no more.
So far hasn’t come out today but it’s very overcast here. Definately winding down 🥹

Good evening everyone and especially my tortoise friends!

Yes I have been very busy and I think I should start with last night. Natrah gets home late on a Wednesday night because she has a rehearsal. Whilst she was out I paced around because the lights were on and I decided to push/dig under the food tray. Unfortunately it didn't want to move so I pushed and shoved and hey presto! It ended up on my shell the water that it was in it spilt all over me and ended on the floor of the enclosure. Anyway I decided to carry on walking so that I ended up under the basking lamp with the water tray upside down on my back! Unfortunately the food bowls got in the way but I was able to bulldoze them so that they were no where near me and besides the enclosure looked much better with my renovations! Natrah came back and started laughing before putting everything back in their places.

Today I was taken out of the enclosure to enjoy the weather and I decided to thank Natrah by leaving a couple of💩💩💩💩💩🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 presents. After I rounded things up by burying myself in what was left of the thistles and some reason Natrah had to fetch the garden gloves to get me out🤣🤣🤣!

I hope you've all had a good day.

Goodnight everyone

Hello Natrah - today was sunny again, and my dad had to do a lot of work in the garden - cutting back stuff and clearing up lots of branches etc. My mum came to sit with me in my conservatory but I was quite cold, as there had been a brief power cut earlier, and my light hadn't gone back on,-and then I had fallen on my back climbing about, and was a bit cross. She took me into the fire room, where I have my stroking sessions, thinking that a good stroke would help, but I wouldn't settle, so we went back to the conservatory. I was getting crosser and crosser, but finally she thought maybe I was hungry. When she prepares my food in the morning, she also does an extra lot, to top up my bowl later - so she sat me on her lap, facing her, on one of my special little yellow towels, and put some food on the towel, in front of me - sort of semi-hand-feeding. Once I started, I realised that was why I was cross, and gradually managed to eat the whole of the spare food ! She couldn't stop laughing, as she had been quite worried about my behaviour. I am fine now, by the way, and soon will be watching tv with her and my dad (-a very old Dr Who series.) I hope Jacky has a good night after her adventure.
Love to you both and to Angel Daisy, and to all my forum friends from Zola xxxxxxxxx

Dear Zola,

I'm on the bus back now after the 7.30 pm bus was cut again. Very tired can't wait to see Jacky and I'm going to complain to Arriva again. I'll let you know when I get in.

Natrah
