What I'm trying to do is not allow these kind of things to take over who I am. It's hard because I'd like to punch them. We're losing so much happiness and time together. Keep being you kill them with kindness. You catch more flys with honey. All that kind of stuff. Don't ever stop being you because of how they act. Just be you. Love wins because it's irresistible. I suddenly remembered that my brother has a big birthday coming and I think is what has brought this on. Anyway I'm quite happy to get on without him as I have lots of friends and I am closer to more distant relatives and of course I have Jacky and her antics! I also have the dentist to look forward today . I'm Sapphire is okay alongwith Mr Fre, Razberri and Dilly.

From what I remember you always made a big effort to keep in touch with them, more so because of how your brother behaved towards you. Also don’t they live some distance away? Always the excuse when you needed support.

Thankyou Sue. Jacky's been treated to some lovely dandelions today. By the way I walked past my old home on the way to the dentist and I had a lovely chat with the new owner. Just recovering from a filling.

It's pretty bad when you have a good time at doctor appointments but I do the same. I see them more often than my own family. Phew Sapphire is still getting outside most days so he's happy. Mr Fre and Razberri are tolerating each other nicely. They've even stopped trying to eat each other's food. Dilly stays holed up with Joe. Everything is good

This is where we were today .....
We went to Hartland Quay -some way up the coast. The island you can see to the left of the photo is called Lundy - and the bird on top of the big rock is a cormorant, I think.
Zola loves to look at the sea, as you know !

Lundy is an old Norse word meaning Puffin Island, and there used to be lots of puffins there - until rats came from off the ships- they found the eggs in their underground holes and ate the babies - however, the island was made a nature reserve, and all the rats were exterminated - now there are lots of puffins again - though not as many as there used to be originally,
yet. They eat sand eels mainly. We went there once on a boat trip round the island - it was lovely, and eventually I hope to have my ashes scattered there - not for a very long time yet, I hope, though. ! !

Angie that would be paradise for me! I've only ever seen puffins in Scotland! It's been warm here and Jacky has been eating and she's had strawberries today.

Today is my youngest nephew's birthday and he has thanked me for the card and present. I haven't spoken to my brother since Sunday but I think his sons would still like a relationship with their aunt. I went to Tomassi's for lunch and had Chockabocker Glory below. Also I'm starting this academic year with 37 pupils which I'm quite happy with!

Dear Natrah - I forgot to tell you that a lot of unusual birds end up round Lundy, because of its position - when we went on the boat trip round the island, we saw a Great Northern Diver - a Canadian bird, which they call a Loon - Richard was certain that was what it was, because he saw lots of them in Canada, of course.
It must have somehow got blown off course !

Dear Natrah -surely 37 pupils is an awful lot to teach individually - are some of them in groups ? I'm sure the money would be nice, but you need to have time for yourself too. Anyway, congratulations - you are clearly a very good teacher - well, I think we knew that already, since they all do well in their exams !
It's rather grey outside now, and also quite cold - Zola won't be having a walk, as his dad has to do garden stuff, but we went out this morning to have a quick look at the sea. He will just have to put up with me in his room - I will be wearing his favourite shoes, anyway, to keep him happy !

Edward would get right out of that tub! He escapes about 4 times per 30 min soak from his own. I really need to get one with taller sides.
