Good morning everyone!

Angie and Sue I bet it is raining where you two because it is a total contrast to yesterday here when we were both out. Angie I hope you're feeling a bit better I wonder if rain can also cause your headaches.

It started raining last night & still raining a bit now. Expecting a deluge over night if the forecast is right.
Dickie is tucked up & not interested in venturing out. She actually came out herself one day this week but wasn’t interested in food. She knows she mustn’t eat now. Her house is back in its usual place now.
Natrah are all your pupils weekly? Hope you still have time for Tomassi’s 😁

Good evening everyone!

Yes Sue they are weekly so I can still get Tomassi's in. I am now waiting for the bus home and the rain seems to have stopped for a while but I got pretty drenched earlier. I can't imagine Zola and Dickie being out today. Jacky was up and she did eat but a lot less so I shall feed her for the last time tomorrow. Does Dickie still like cherries by the way? Edward's Servant has your heating come on and what's the weather like in Finland?

Goodnight everyone

We have had some fairly unpleasant weather here -very wet and windy. Zola had a look at the sea, but no walk - it is also very cold, so he had to make do with a long cuddle, sleep, and stroke by a cheerful fire instead - poor little chap !
I have had more information about my new headache treatment - it's called Ajovy - is that what your sister has, Sue ?

Thank you, Sue - it's going to be quite a different experience for me, so I'm a bit apprehensive about it, but I get the impression that it is working well for your sister - I don't know anyone personally who has it ! It would be so nice not to have to take endless paracetamol etc to take the edge off it - I think that may be one reason why I'm so shaky all the time (not just age !)

My sister says it works better than the head injections but she still has to take her migraine prevention meds as well. Now & again she does still get a migraine but they are not as severe & don’t last as long.
It may take time to build up in your system before you get the maximum effect but I do hope that overall it will improve things for you 🤞🙏🏻

Dear Natrah and everyone, we have had really awful weather today - heavy rain, fierce winds, and very cold. Poor Zola didn't get a walk at all, and wasn't very happy. He had his cuddle and stroke by the fire, but otherwise was rather neglected -he thought so anyway !
About the photo I sent you the other day, with Lundy Island - the area facing it, where we were, is called Hartland Quay- there wasn't a proper quay there originally, but in 1586 a bill in Parliament sponsored by Sir Walter Raleigh and Sir Francis Drake got authorisation to build a proper quay there so heavy cargoes like coal, timber etc could be unloaded conveniently ! ! !
We didn't get down to the quay itself, as it is a long steep walk, but I love the thought of these great men being involved with it !
Love to you and all our forum friends from Angie and Zola xxxxxxxxx

Good evening everyone!

Angie that's history! Apparently Sir Francis Drake has a connection with Southend but not Sir Walter Raleigh. How was the weather where you are Sue? Unlike Angie we had some sun today but the wind picked up in the afternoon making it too cold for Jacky to come out. I stopped feeding Jacky today but she was gradually losing her appetite anyway.

I just want to you all about yesterday including @Chefdenoel10, @Cathie G and @The_Four_Toed_Edward. When I added to this thread yesterday I was actually waiting for the bus at Rayleigh. I had arrived just before 7.15 pm and there was a young family waiting with me to go home to Canvey Island which is further away. When we arrived at the bus stop in miserable weather the electronic sign said that the next bus would be twenty-three minutes. Therefore I carried on typing but when I looked up five minutes later it said ten minutes. A bus appeared but it said Not In Service so we had to wait for the other bus. It did not turn up so we had to wait another half an hour for the 8.00 pm bus! I got him at 8.45 pm but I don't know what time the other people got home. We were all going to complain because what is the point of a Not In Service bus if they're going to take out the other bus. I know they could be affected by traffic but it still doesn't explain the Not In Service bus wasn't taking any passengers. I have lodged a complaint and the other passengers were going to do the same so I'll see what happens.

Goodnight everyone

You poor thing!!!!!
I’ve had that happen too and it’s AWFUL having to wait for another bus to come along some time much later.
One time I didn’t get home till 11:00pm!
I was so scared that when I finally got home I just sat down and cried for about an hour.
I can just picture the whole situation….
After drying off was Jacky cross with you for being so late?
Was the scale flipped?
The rug ruffled?
The toilet on its side????? 😱
I am just so glad you made it home..❤️❤️❤️

It sounds to me like the ‘not in service’ bus was the one that didn’t turn up, running ahead of schedule because it didn’t have to stop anywhere to pick up passengers! Getting home at that time of night isn’t good with the dark evenings & winter approaching. Your days are much longer now with your extra pupils.
Weather wise we didn’t get the deluge the weather map showed, just blustery rain. Very windy of course, with the sound of dustbins being blown over! I was amazed to see our bird tables still standing.
Dickie of course is in a sheltered place but she hasn’t moved now for a couple of days so she is on her way into hibernation. We won’t bring her into the garage yet as it’s not cold enough.
How do you reduce the temperature for Jacky indoors when you would still need to have your heating on?

Good evening everyone!

It's been a better day here than yesterday although it was very blustery. @Chefdenoel10 to wait for a bus at that time of night is scary and I think I would have got a taxi home. Angie I hope you're okay and that Zola got his walk.

It was warm enough I felt for to stretch her legs for a short while and she enjoyed a walk around the garden and climbing on the rockery. I have found that despite Jacky and Daisy being in an enclosure they seem to know when to hibernate so Jacky has been eating but not as much as before. Jacky didn't eat anything today but she did have a soak and when she went outside I received a present🤣!

I will keep her warm for a couple of weeks and then gradually lower the temperature in her enclosure before putting her in the spare room which is unheated. This may mean that I have to open the window each day until the thermostat reaches 12 degrees Celsius or lower. She may spend some time outside for a little and her final soak will be a cold one.

Goodnight everyone

The weather here wasn't great - not as windy, but still cold and showery - Zola didn't get a walk this afternoon, though of course we went to look at the sea in the morning. He had a good stroke and cuddle by the fire this afternoon, though - he scrabbled about on me for about 3 minutes, then remembered what we were there for, and settled down !
Our robin is coming back to Richard for mealworms much more often again now -we had been worried that he might have died, for a while - he is very aggressive about it really- not friendly ,like he used to be.(We do know it is the same robin, by the way he reacts to things, though !) I think this is a difficult time for them, though, and we don't mind how he behaves, as long as he gets some food in his tiny stomach ! We have lots of sparrows on our feeders at the moment - at one time we never saw any, and we know they are becoming rarer -however, we have loads!
I have sent off my consent form for the Ajovy - I think it may come quite soon.
Sue, does your sister have to fill in a diary about her headache frequency - and what are the migraine prevention meds you mentioned ? Sorry to bother you, but I don't know anyone else I can ask !
The weather might be a bit better here tomorrow - I hope you all have a good day.

Dear Angie,
I think that is a great idea to keep a diary.
For the headaches only though….
I used to hate filling in my diary because I was such a boring person..😂
But for headaches I would detail every day.
That way you could know exactly
How
When
Why
Where…
Each and what type of headache/ migraine you are experiencing.
Each may come with a different solution and you can show your doctor how to treat you by the way your symptoms occur…
Just a thought …
(that got way out of hand 🤭) sorry I just want you to be ok.
I can’t help but ramble on these days..???
I don’t know what it is but my words don’t make much sense lately and neither do my thoughts….
❤️❤️❤️❤️

Dear Chef -I appreciate your suggestions about the diary, and I would never consider you were just rambling, as I have often noticed what appropriate remarks you make on this forum (sometimes amusing ones, but always very appropriate !)
