That's what she looks like, but sadly not that happy. I can't get her to be in water long or eat. That looks like an African sideneck turtle to me. They are aquatic.View attachment 386954
Still alive, but not eating. I'm going to try worms today.I hope he's still alive and eating?
I put her in about 3 inches of water and she kinda freaked out, trying to get out and climb the top. She held herself out of the water part way with the rim. I noticed she keeps her mouth open a little all the time and makes a noise when she breathes. Since she's a turtle and not a tort can I soak her in the water and carrot baby food? If so how much would you recommend I mix it?Water turtles can't swallow if their head is not submerged in water. I would put it in a tank or tub with water that is at least 4 inches deep and offer food like fish, worms or whatever you think it may eat. He has not eaten for too long because he was not kept in water. Try feeding him and watching him in a "sneaky" way, so he doesn't see you watching.
She is a mud turtle. They live in shallow streams, ponds, swamps and muddy river banks. Leave her in a large washtub that she cannot climb out of, with 3 or 4 inches of water. Tilt one end of the tub and put a rock or tile under it so that the one end is raised and the water is deeper at the other end. Put a few large edible leaves like romaine or pumpkin vine leaves in the water, and put her in the tub in a warm quiet place. Keep an eye on her to make sure she can't tip herself over.I put her in about 3 inches of water and she kinda freaked out, trying to get out and climb the top. What food do you have for her?Ok. Thanks
At this point, I would try her with at least 4 different meat food items like shrimp, worms, frogs, pinkie rats and mice and even tinned sardines in water. Whatever you can get. What food do you have for her?
Do you have any heat provided?I put her in about 3 inches of water and she kinda freaked out, trying to get out and climb the top. She held herself out of the water part way with the rim.
