Good afternoon everyone!

I have been keeping up with the replies and enjoy reading Zola's adventures. I imagine he's a lovely walk in the sunshine at the moment. Anyway Jacky hasn't eaten for two days so I am going to keep supplying her with spring greens and lettuce just to see if she will eat until they run out then I will just keep her warm and keep soaking her

Angie I'm pleased you're starting the injections again and hopefully you'll feel better. Anyway I had my health check yesterday and everything went well although I will need statins like dad. I have a telephone appointment about this and I believe that this is partly due to ethnicity because my weight is good. Blood pressure was also excellent but as dad's former carer I wondering what his response would have been to a nurse asking if he suffers from memory problems. Of course I said that my memory is okay but dad probably would have put on his best 'host' mode and maintained that he was fine! I remember my local dementia friend and a lady from the Alzheimer's Society advising me not to mention the 'A' word in front of dad! I can still remember when dad said that I was confused!

Anyway I ran into my brother and his partner on the way home and all we say now is 'hello'!

Keep safe

Natrah, Jacky and Angel Daisy

Hello Natrah - I had a long walk again with my dad, and Then he made a fire and I had an hour being stroked by my mum, sometimes sleeping a bit, but mostly resting with my head against her face - we both enoyed it a lot, and it helped her headache go away.
Tomorrow my mum and dad have to get their flu and Covid injections,so I shall be a bit late going anywhere, but perhaps we shall get to the sea anyway.
I hope you have a good day. Love to you, Jacky and Angel Daisy, and to all my forum friends from Zola and Angie xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Dear Zola and Angie (@zolasmum),

Did you see the picture of the orchid? Please take it easy after your jabs and give Zola a long stroke.

Goodnight

Hello Natrah - it has been raining hard all day, and quite cold, but we felt obliged to let Zola have a brief look at the sea - otherwise he would think he was missing out.He was very energetic and cross this afternoon anyway, until he had a long stroking session with me by the fire, to calm him down. He does calm down quite quickly, usually, whatever mood he has been in previously.
Our injections yesterday went ok - the nurse doing them was quite skilful, and they didn't hurt much!
I am glad to have them over with. I'm not looking forward to my head injections starting again soon, but if they still reduce my headaches, I shall be very grateful.
I hope you and Jacky are doing well - if Jacky hides too much, you won't be able to hibernate her properly,
so you will have to speak very sternly to her !
Love to you, Jacky, Angel Daisy and all my forum friends from Angie andZola xxxxxxxxxx

Good evening everyone!

Jacky has eaten again today but I will soon just put dandelions and grass in the enclosure. I think she ate today because I soaked but otherwise she's not eating as much as in the summer. Sadly I have thought of Daisy as well because I still occasionally think that she would be hibernating as well. Sue is Dickie hibernating now? Is Sherman in the shed?

I did have lunch at the Cliffs Pavilion and I must say that I could see the rain coming over towards Kent so I thought of Zola and his parents. I'm glad you're both okay after those injections Angie. Hope everyone else is okay. I might not be able to post so much this week because we have our concert this Saturday (see below). The following Saturday Jacky will be 89!

Goodnight everyone

No Dickie isn’t hibernating yet. She has been out the last 3 days for a little while so again we were able to give her a soak. She had a slow walk round yesterday then went back in her box. Today we were out but she was still out when we got back despite the drizzle.
Pete hasn’t seen Sherman as he was working elsewhere on site & on the way home got a call from the sanctuary to go rescue a hedgehog that had fallen down a deep hole. It was in the next village to us. He managed to get it out & it seemed unscathed.
Jacky still sounds quite active. I think Dickie will be ready to hibernate soon.

Good afternoon everyone!

I hope you're all okay. I have no internet possibly due to router filters.

Natrah
Hello Natrah and everyone - we have had really bad weather today - yesterday too - so no walks on the breakwater - I don't know how to swim, and if a big wave washed over it, I would be in trouble - also it is really cold.
My dad just came across this photo he took of my mum feeding our lovely friendly pheasant, Clarence. My mum sort of rescued and protected him when he first turned up injured in our garden, and he really liked to be with her - especially when she had grated cheese in her bag !
Goodnight and love to all my friends from Zola and Angie xxxxxxxxxx

Good evening everyone,

That is beautiful Zola. I'm so sorry if this seems short but I have to phone BT on Thursday because the router needs replacing. Please keep posting here everyone I am still around just having to save data. This pheasant is a beautiful friend of yours Zola. Jacky buried herself under the water tray again and I wish I could have taken a photo

Goodnight everyone

Male pheasants are so beautiful. We don’t see any round here apart from the ones that didn’t get over the busy road 😢
It’s been raining on & off today. Dickie didn’t come out she didn’t even peek out! Zzzz
Sorry to hear about your broadband problem. We were moved to another provider recently & had to have a new router which is enormous. Our house phone has to work through broadband now like the mobiles & it took hours to sort it all out over a couple of days. Neither of us are that up with the technology. I expect youngsters would have it sorted in a few minutes. The problem was mainly because we wanted to keep the land line. The mobiles were easy enough with just a new SIM card then transfer of number etc.
Best of luck with it all Natrah

Hello Natrah and everyone - it has been a fairly cold day, but quite sunny, and my dad thought it would be good if I could have a walk on the breakwater - there were hardly any people around, but one very old lady came up to talk to us - she asked my name, and when my dad said Zola, she said "Oh, after Gian-Franco Zola? He was my favourite footballer !" My dad was quite touched that she was so pleased.
Clarence the pheasant used to hang around our garden a lot, and sometimes other pheasants would join him for a chat on our lawn, but eventually he vanished - we really missed him. I don't like to think about what probably happened to him.
I hope your router gets sorted out soon.
Goodnight to you and love to all our tortoise friends from Zola xxxxxxxxxxxx

Good morning everyone!

Zola is that a recent picture of Clarence he is very majestic. BT are aiming to fix the fault by midnight on the 15th October. This has brought back memories of dad who was a telephone engineer. He would have tried to fix this as soon as possible 💔❤️❤️‍🩹.

Hello Natrah - yes, Clarence was very handsome - and he really trusted us - once ,when a loud noise startled him in the garden, he flew straight into my arms - he was very big, and practically knocked me over, but I felt truly honoured ! This all happened several years ago, and I think he probably either got shot or run over - he just stopped coming. I still miss him.
It has been very wet and cold today, so no walk for Zola - I have been checking the news on line about the hurricane all day, thinking of Ray and the others - at least the worst is probably over for them now but how scary it must have been !
Goodnight and love to you ,Jacky, Angel Daisy, and all our forum friends

Hello Natrah and friends - today it was sunny and not cold, so I was able to go for a walk with my dad on the breakwater - we met several people who had never seen a tortoise up close before, and they were very interested and excited. I had a lovely stroke later with my mum - she has been having a lot of trouble with her headaches, and she says nothing is more soothing than holding a little tortoise on her front so she can feel me breathing on her, while sitting by a small but pretty fire !!! I am glad I can help her- and, of course, I like it too.
Love to everyone from Zola xxxxxxxxxx
